The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) is pleased to announce that its two most-recent continuing education (CE) courses have been honored by Architectural Record magazine’s 2021 Advertising Excellence Awards program.

The MBMA courses, “Using Metal Building Systems to Meet and Exceed the Energy Code” and “Creative Building Solutions with Pre-Painted Metal Panels,” won awards for generating the most leads over the last year. Additionally, “Creative Building Solutions with Pre-Painted Metal Panels,” produced in conjunction with the National Coil Coating Association (NCCA), was recognized as the fastest-moving CE course that same year.

“For the third year in a row, MBMA’s continuing education courses have earned prestigious awards from Architectural Record magazine,” says Tony Bouquot, MBMA’s general manager. “This is a great indicator that MBMA’s efforts as an educational leader for the metal building systems industry are highly effective. The popularity of both courses shows that metal buildings continue to grow in acceptance in the architecture, engineering and construction world.”

Each year, Architectural Record recognizes the most effective ads and continuing education articles and interactive courses in the building and design marketplace, as well as the companies and agencies that produce them. Over the last year, the top continuing education articles and interactive presentation courses were utilized by thousands of test takers—a quantifiable measurement of user engagement, considering more than 200,000 tests were taken in the pages of Architectural Record and online at the magazine’s Continuing Education Center.

MBMA’s latest award-winning courses are both available at Architectural Record’s Continuing Education Center. “Using Metal Building Systems to Meet and Exceed the Energy Code,” first released in December 2020, looks at relevant energy codes and provisions before exploring various ways metal buildings can meet these requirements. Introduced in November 2020, “Creative Building Solutions with Pre-Painted Metal Panels” describes the manufacturing process for pre-painted metal, also called coil-coated metal or precoated metal, and the difference between it and post-production painted metal. The presentation also analyzes the many uses of pre-painted metal in the building process and addresses how to specify its use in any construction project.
